3/5

I finally finished 3/5 of my medical studies..

but this end means something more difficult is going to begin..

Anyway, this is not something to worry about right now. I am sure i will find a way to survive next year.. After all, i have survived 1.5 years away from home.. Right ?

So far things have been going on great..

- Watched 2012
- Went for a jog
- Bball session
- Treated about half of the people i know for coffee.. to thank them for everything..

and for those who are not into coffee.. i treated them Whisky =)

If you are asking.. where am I ? behind the camera..

Looking at this picture.. i wonder why am i still so sober..lol...

My next mission is to clean my house and pack up my stuff in 72 hours.. which i reckon should not be too difficult.

Shifting out to a new place..

Counting down to days of my return to KL..

Run the BRIDGE

People always say :"It doesn't matter how pricey a present is, what matters is the sincerity"

Therefore, for Vivian's 23rd birthday present, i will get her something really special.

A completion medal of :
This race will be my first 10km run and it will take place on the 7th February. One day before Vivian's birthday.

The race route is as follow:

On that day, i will be running uphill across this bridge with all my sweat and pain.. screaming "PLZ LOVE ME MORE.. VIVIAN !!"

and the bad news is - the bridge is only half way through the torture.. lol..

*Darn, who should i have posted this ? I can't possibly pull out now.. can i ?

Anyway, this will be a great source of motivation for me to exercise more and get healthy. =)

Gay

Well, when i say gay.. it means i am happy.

However, there is a true "Gay" component to this as well.

Why happy ? Done with my health promotion. I seriously don't have a very strong interest in completing this assignment due to the upcoming exams. Just trying to complete something which does not look too sloppy.

So this is my video on Road Safety in Primary School Children
video

Why gay ? cause they make me wear this female size super bright jacket.
Reason : This is a video for primary school children. You should wear something bright to catch their attention...

I was like ???? lol.. what sort of lame reason is that...

Anyway.. i am happy to get this done thing with.

The Forgotten

I seriously do not remember how long i have not updated my blog.

I seriously do not understand why i have the urge to update my blog right now at 2.33am.

The past few weeks have been a busy moment for me i guess.

I started my new rotation on "Primary Care" and it is not a very good thing to end with.

This is one rotation where i need to write 2 reflective pieces, do a health promotion project, write up a care plan for type 2 diabetes, go on community placements and rural placement. Things have been going on well so far except for the part where I literally need to bury my head on writing up the care plan and reflective pieces. ARGH.. !!! frustrating...

My rural placement was at New Norfolk, Derwent Valley

Overall, it was a nice clinical experience to see different type of medicine.
Got my hands on some pretty interesting stuff like cutting up some skins, stitching skins, jabbing people with needles, freezing skin with liquid nitrogen..

This is the time when people say "Please do not build your pleasure upon my sufferings"

instead, what i hear was "This student is very good ! i did not feel the pain at all, I must come back and look for you in the future.. !!"

I looked into the patient's eyes thinking "hhmnn.. well.. the fact that you did not feel the pain, was not because my skills are superb, it was because i gave you some anesthesia . To be honest, you are the first person to allow me cutting you up.. lol"

Apart from that, i visited the paper factory, Norske Skog.

What did i get out of this field trip ?

NOT MUCH.. because what i remember was

"Hello everybody, welcome to Norske Skog. My name is XXXX, i will be bringing you around the factory and explain some of the health hazards in which the workers face day to day. I would seek for your co-operation to put on these ear plugs as the machine can get quite loud at times. Now please watch how i put on these ear plugs correctly"

"Alright, now lets .........................................................................................................................................................
....................................."

This was what i heard after putting on those ear plugs... lol...

So please do not ask me how paper is made.. i don't know !!!

Lazy

Yes.. i am lazy..

Counted the days left before my finals and stress starts to mount..
This is the time when i should start abandoning my blog and study like there's no tmr..

However, considering i am a man of my word, i promised to update more on Vivian's aus trip.. Hence, i will blog before i go to bed.. hopefully this will reduce my sense of guilt and have a sweeter dream.

So, continuing from where i left off previously,

Well, i couldn't really think of anything else..

Basically, Port Arthur was the jizz of the Tasmania story.. due to the time constraint, we did not visit places which are farther and nicer.. anyway, the whole point of Vivian coming to Tasmania was not to visit the surfer's beach or historic site.. The idea of her coming is to see ME.. lol..

Some random pics :

Pandan layer cake she brought all the way from KL..

Salmon (Mediterranean style)

Salmon (hot rock style)

After my exam awaiting our flight to Melbourne =)

Time spent in Melbourne was much more fun as i have finished my exams = less stress, more fun, more time =)

More random pics :

Vivian wanted to show off her baking skills, hence.. i have no choice but to try her version of pandan layer cake
and true enough.. her pandan layer cake was AWESOME.. =)

Went over to Matsuya in Fairfield for some great japanese food too.. and while you wait for your food.. the natural instinct strikes.. CAMWHORE !!

Somehow, my mum finds it FUN too.. so she joined in..
One of the highlights in Melbourne was driving to Lakes Entrance..
The main attraction apart from the beach is FRESH seafood..

but.. seems that winter time is RESTING time.. restaurants taking break and fishermen hibernating..
No choice, gotta spend more time on the beach then..

=)

Lack of Motivation

Alright.. finally Jern updates his blog.. if this is what you are thinking.. you are ABSOLUTELY right !! haha...

Well, yes i know.. it has been a very very long time since i updated my blog.. i guess every blogger sort of go through this period where motivation is lacking ALL THE TIME.. and thus no updates..

First of all, thank you Vivian for updating.. appreciate it a lot.. =)

For the past 2 months, things have been a bit busy over here with me as i need to rush up my logbook as well as OSCE preparations before Vivian arrives..

We have not met each other for about a year or so.. and this meeting has certainly reignited the love spark and served as a refreshment for our relationship..

It was a little unfortunate that my practical exam is up in a week, hence we spent only the weekends traveling around..

One of the place we stopped by - Port Arthur
A historic place where the UK dump their convicts

Along the way home, we cruised through the coastal roads with lookout points every 20 mins.

and true enough, some of the lookout points are magnificent..

*info for travelers - bring a 3rd person as cameraman, if not, plz perfect your skills on operating the self timer function on your respective cameras

lol.. after a few dangerous attempts of me dashing towards the spot on slippery rocks, we finally managed to capture a more decent photograph

On the weekdays, nothing much could be done as it was drizzly and windy.. hence.. the most comfortable thing to do was "COFFEE"

*will update more as time comes. bear with me. =)

-♥-

'Finally.. Jern updates his blog..'
If this is what you are thinking at the moment, you are only PARTIALLY right :)

Little miss vi decided to update this blog on behalf of the author because I just could not stand clicking on the blog add more than 5 times a day and seeing the same title - 'There Is Always Someone Better' appeared.. with all the same old video clips! Thus, I shall update it and read it as if I wasn't the author! *I am insane!*

While he is soundly asleep + I am so bored with my report..I shall just write all I want :)

So, what's Jern up to?

Nothing much really.. He is backed in Tasmania, down with flu *pity pity-sayang you*, going through almost the same daily routine, wake up-hosp-lunch-lectures-shower-dinner-study-watch some TV programmes-*reply UNIMPORTANT email*-sleep. In between, misses me if he is free, feeling guilty or reminded doing so :p

His finals are coming in 2 months time and then.. he will be going back HOME! Yeah! See you guys soon! I can't think of anything else which is interesting to share..haha.. This is the true colours of how boring an international medical student's life can be :s

Okies okies, that's all for now! An exclusively unique post, to you, for you, on behalf of you :)

♥With Love, Little Miss Vi
